It was the tragic neglect and death of Baby Peter (United Kingdom) that inspired and moved singer/songwriter Dylan so much that he felt compelled to put his thoughts to music and to help disadvantaged children and children with familial difficulties.

As the weeks draw closer, the excitement is building for Shirley Murdock’s first “Live” CD/DVD recording on April 28, 2011 in Charlotte, NC. In what is already being billed as an “Amazing Live Music Event”, attendees will enjoy a one-of-a-kind evening filled with an abundance of audience participation and entertaining surprises from beginning to end.
April 28th will be a Night of Firsts for Shirley Murdock along with her phenomenal guest artists who will join her “Live” for the first time including Regina Belle, Beverly Crawford, and Kelly Price.
This groundbreaking project is being produced by two time Grammy & Stellar Award Winner, Cedric Thompson (Donald Lawrence & Tri City, Karen Clark-Sheard, Marvin Sapp, and Vanessa Bell Armstrong). Christopher Martin aka Play From (Kid-n-Play) to Host Gospel Rap Awards:

Veteran rapper Play of Kid ‘n Play is set to host the 11th annual Holy Hip Hop Awards.
Play, whose real name is Christopher Martin will co-host with radio personality Minister eDDIe Velez aka Da Prechin Puerto Rican, with music provided by DJ Dex, DJ Radikal and Higher Ground Record Pool.
The Holy Hip Hop Awards happen on April 17 at the North Event Venue and Lounge in downtown Atlanta, Ga.
Martin also teaches a bi-weekly class called Hip-Hop Seminar at Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University (FAMU) in Tallahassee, Fla. He has been serving as professional-in-residence with the school’s newly minted Institute for Hip Hop and Music Industry Studies since January.

Kirk Franklin’s New Album Is No. 1: On Billboard Gospel Chart

It’s official. Kirk Franklin’s 12th album, “Hello Fear,” debuted on Billboard’s gospel chart at no. 1 and no. 5 on the Billboard’s Top 200, clocking in as the fourth highest Gospel debut in SoundScan history.
James “Jazzy” Jordan of EVP Verity Gospel Music Group congratulated Franklin saying:
“Kirk Franklin is in a class by himself not just in Gospel music, but in music – period. He is a genius in the studio, an incredible songwriter and has a heart and ear firmly poised towards God.
